Coloring Page: Be Humble

Worksheet: Crossword

  • Today we will be going over meekness!  When you hear the word meekness, what do you think about?  Who do you think about?  I think about Jesus!  Jesus says, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."  Amen, so we see that we ought to learn of Him!  He was meek and lowly not trying to make a name for Himself wasn't flashy or showy, but He humbled himself and became obedient even unto the cross.  Do we try to make a name for ourselves, or do acts of kindness to just be seen?  When we are humble clothed with humility, we don't seek our own glory, but we seek to give God glory, realizing we are nothing and can do nothing without Him.

  • Let's look at this scripture: Isaiah 29:19

  • Why would the meek increase their joy in the Lord?  Write down what you think before moving on.

  • They increase their joy in the Lord because they are not worried about anything else, they are not worried about the riches and things of this world because the meek know that they are rich in Christ and in Him is everything they need.

  • Did you know in Christ we have all need and are complete in Him!

  • Homework:  Look up at least 3 scriptures that has meek in them and explain them in your notebook tonight.

  • Let's Pray!  Thank you, Lord, for being everything we need! Please help us to be meek like Jesus.  In Jesus name, Amen.

  • Today we will examine the traits of the meek.  When you are meek...

  • Do you exhibit these traits?  Jesus said, "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."  We should be meek like Jesus, plus this is one of the fruits we as Christians should produce!

  • Homework:  There was a man that the Bible says was very meek then all the men on the face of the earth.  Find out who it is and write about his life in your notebook.

  • Let's Pray!  Dear Lord, thank you for sending your son to be an example for us all.  Please help me to be meek and lowly as He was.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Worksheet: Self-Control

  • For HW last night, did you find out who that man was?  Did you find any traits that made him meek?  Great!  Today we will learn about temperance which means self-control.  I am really into sci-fi movies, and I was watching this very interesting sci-fi show, but some of the episodes had bad stuff in it.  I would just skip it and keep watching.  I really, really wanted to see what would happen at the end of the series.  Well one day I went to pray, and the Holy Spirit began to bring that show to me.  I realized the Lord didn't want me to watch it anymore.  So, I said Lord forgive me I don't care what happened at the end, I choose you!  Praise the Lord!! He gives us power to stop doing wrong, power to say no, power to do what's right!  Aren't you glad!  I am!  So, the Holy Spirit helps us to have self-control.  I stopped watching that show.

  • When your mom bake cookies and you get one then two then three...and your mom says too many sweets will give you a tummy ache.  But you want more cookies!  The Lord can help you to have self-control and listen to the wisdom of your mom, so you won't get a tummy ache.

  • Are there other ways you can use self-control?  Write it in your notebook.

  • Let's Pray!  Dear Lord, thank you for giving us power over sin, self and satan!  Please help me to have self-control in whatever I do.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Thursday

Fruit: Temperance

Song: Just Be Humble

Study Sheet:  Definitions

  • Today you have a study sheet for your exam tomorrow!  Try to remember all the definitions!  You know Jesus had to have self-control as well, I'm sure He might have wanted a wife and kids.  But He choose to do the will of the Father.  When we have self-control, we are telling our flesh that you don't control me!  I have power over you!  If you find that you are struggling with having self-control, maybe too much Tv, video games, playing and not reading your Bible or praying.  Then along with prayer, you should fast.  Fasting is a great way to help us to die to ourselves and have more self-control.  Today read this scripture and write down what it means to fast in your notebook: Isaiah 58.

  • Let's Pray! Dear Lord thank you for this day! Please help me to have self-control! In Jesus name, Amen!
